Royal Government’s New One-Stop Tax Service Building Inaugurated
AKP Phnom Penh, May 21, 2026 --
Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet this morning presided over the inauguration of the new headquarters building of the General Department of Taxation (GDT) under the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet described the new building as one of Cambodia’s latest landmark achievements.
“It demonstrates the continuous progress of state institutions in Cambodia and reflects the Royal Government’s strong commitment to modernising public administration to better serve citizens and the national economy,” he underlined.
H.E. Kong Vibol, Director-General of the General Department of Taxation, said the building was constructed on a total area of 25,755 square metres and consists of 30 floors dedicated to administrative offices and four floors for commercial purposes.
The facility was designed to function as a comprehensive service centre for taxpayers and the public.
“It can be considered a ‘one-stop service’ centre where taxpayers can access all related services efficiently in one location,” he stressed.
According to H.E. Aun Pornmoniroth, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, the new building is not only a significant national achievement but also a symbol of growth, strength, stability, confidence, and a bright future.
He added that the building reflects the Royal Government’s commitment to improving public service delivery by providing citizens, taxpayers, and tax officials with a modern, efficient, comfortable, and high-quality environment for tax-related services under one roof.
The Deputy Prime Minister also highlighted the achievements of the General Department of Taxation as one of the country’s main revenue collectors.
He noted that tax revenue collection increased from approximately US$738 million in 2012 to US$3.577 billion in 2025, representing nearly a fourfold increase over the past 13 years.
