Cambodia showcased a wide range of high-potential agricultural goods and handicraft products at Global Festa Japan 2026, held from Oct. 17 to 18 in Tokyo, according to a statement from the Ministry of Commerce issued on Oct. 21.
The Royal Embassy of Cambodia in Japan joined the event and set up an exhibition space to promote national exports, foster business linkages, and attract foreign direct investment.
Co-organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and the Japan NGO Centre for International Cooperation (JANIC), Global Festa Japan celebrated its 35th anniversary this year.
Held under the theme "Connected to the World, My Everyday Life, Creating the Future Together," the event gathered nearly 200 exhibitors, including government agencies, foreign diplomatic missions, international organisations, NGOs, and private companies, to highlight international cooperation and progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Global Festa Japan is a major event in Japan focused on international cooperation and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Marking its 35th anniversary this year, the event served as an important platform for nearly 200 exhibitors, including Japanese government institutions, foreign embassies in Tokyo, private companies, international organisations, and non-governmental organisations, to showcase their humanitarian and global development initiatives through product and food exhibitions, stage performances and discussions, educational and health-related outreach, as well as various activities promoting trade, culture, and tourism.
During the exhibition, the embassy organised a showcase of 19 Cambodian products, comprising high-potential agricultural goods, handicrafts, and souvenirs, and facilitated the participation of the Japanese company Pa’Aimaz Co., Ltd., a distributor and retailer of Cambodian cashew nuts in Japan.
On this occasion, the embassy officials also briefed visitors on digital capacity building and the promotion of Cambodian products in international markets via the Ministry of Commerce’s platform, CambodiaTrade.com, with the aim of further boosting the export of Cambodian goods globally.
During the two-day event, numerous Japanese and international visitors showed great interest in Cambodian products, including Cambodian cashew nuts, Kampot pepper, Mondulkiri coffee, dried mangoes, Hanuman beer, and "The Taste of Angkor" cookbook, while several Japanese companies expressed intentions to invest in Cambodia in construction, education, healthcare, and restaurant sectors.
