AKP Phnom Penh, September 29, 2026 -- Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation H.E. Mrs. EAT Sophea received a courtesy call from H.E. Ms. Raylene Liufalani, Ambassador of New Zealand to Cambodia with residence in Bangkok, at the Ministry on the afternoon of Sept. 28.

According to a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, during the meeting, H.E. Mrs. EAT Sophea warmly welcomed and congratulated H.E. Ms. Raylene Liufalani on her appointment as New Zealand’s Ambassador to Cambodia and assured her of Cambodia’s full support and cooperation throughout her diplomatic mission.

Both sides expressed satisfaction with the longstanding relations and fruitful cooperation between Cambodia and New Zealand in key areas, including education, agriculture, environment, water resources management, the promotion of women’s and youth rights, and mine clearance, which have contributed to Cambodia’s socioeconomic development.

They also highly valued the exchange of high-level visits, the organisation of Foreign Ministries’ Consultations and people-to-people connectivity, which have further strengthened bilateral relations.

H.E. Mrs. EAT Sophea also briefed the Ambassador on the latest developments concerning the Cambodia-Thailand border situation and reiterated Cambodia’s commitment to resolving the border dispute through peaceful means, in accordance with international law and existing agreements.

Before concluding the meeting, H.E. Raylene Liufalani affirmed her commitment to further strengthening and deepening bilateral relations between Cambodia and New Zealand.
