Cambodia, Viet Nam Agree to Further Strengthen Bilateral Relations and Cooperation

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet on Monday held a courtesy meeting and working discussion with H.E. Tran Thanh Man, Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly, during his official visit to Viet Nam and participation in the 3rd ASEAN Future Forum (AFF), taking place on June 8-9 in Hanoi.
During the meeting, H.E. Tran Thanh Man highly praised Cambodia’s dynamic development and achievements across all sectors and expressed confidence that under the leadership of Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Cambodia would continue to achieve further success and stronger development.
The Vietnamese National Assembly President also welcomed the shared commitment of both governments to deepen bilateral cooperation and reaffirmed Viet Nam’s intention to continue implementing agreements reached by the top leaders of the two countries. He expressed optimism that Cambodia-Vietnam cooperation would continue to expand in the years ahead.
H.E. Tran Thanh Man further expressed satisfaction with the close relationship between the legislative institutions of both countries and stressed the importance of continuing to strengthen parliamentary cooperation at both bilateral and international levels.
In response, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet congratulated Vietnam on its socio-economic progress and expressed confidence that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Vietnamese government, Vietnam would achieve its national development goals set for 2030 and 2045.
Samdech Thipadei also welcomed the strong cooperation between the legislative bodies of Cambodia and Viet Nam, highlighting regular exchanges of visits and frequent engagements among parliamentary leaders in bilateral and multilateral frameworks, which have contributed significantly to strengthening overall bilateral ties.
The two leaders exchanged views on expanding cooperation in key sectors including economy, trade and investment, politics, security and defence, education and vocational training, tourism, culture, and infrastructure connectivity. Particular emphasis was placed on linking the Phnom Penh-Bavet Expressway with Viet Nam’s Ho Chi Minh City–Moc Bai Expressway, enhancing water transport connectivity, and increasing direct flight connections.
Both sides agreed that Cambodia and Vietnam continue to possess considerable potential and opportunities to complement and support each other in promoting economic and trade development for the mutual benefit of both countries and their peoples.
