Cambodia, Japan Strengthen Economic Ties as Deputy PM Meets JBAC to Drive Investment Growth

Cambodia and Japan have reinforced their economic partnership, with senior officials and business leaders convening to address operational challenges and unlock new investment opportunities.
Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Sun Chanthol, who also serves as First Vice President of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), co-chaired a high-level consultative meeting on Monday with Mr. Akira Yoshimoto, President of the Japanese Business Association in Cambodia (JBAC).
The strategic dialogue brought together representatives from leading Japanese firms and relevant Cambodian ministries to review state support mechanisms and streamline operations for investors.
“The continued expansion of Japanese capital and operations is a testament to the strengthening economic ties between our nations,” H.E. Sun Chanthol, reaffirming the Royal Government’s commitment to refining the investment climate, ensuring maximum efficiency for international stakeholders, and expressed gratitude to Japan’s private sector for its sustained confidence in the Kingdom.
Mr. Yoshimoto praised Cambodia’s “consistent openness” to private sector feedback, noting that direct engagement with Royal Government leadership has significantly boosted investor confidence among JBAC members.
