Cambodia, Lithuania Commit to Deepening Bilateral Cooperation in Key Sectors
AKP Phnom Penh, April 24, 2026 -- Cambodia and Lithuania have significant potential to further strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation in a range of sectors, visiting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania H.E. Kęstutis Budrys told Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet this morning.
During a courtesy call at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh, H.E. Kęstutis Budrys expressed appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by the Royal Government of Cambodia and said his first official visit marked an important step in elevating friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
The Lithuanian Foreign Minister noted that both nations possess considerable potential to deepen relations and cooperation for the mutual benefit of their peoples.
For his part, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet highly valued the visit, describing it as a catalyst for strengthening bilateral ties and broadening the scope of cooperation between Cambodia and Lithuania.
On the occasion, the Prime Minister and his guest exchanged views on several priority sectors, including economy, trade and investment, agriculture, manufacturing, tourism, digital transformation, education and training, as well as stronger links between the private sectors of both countries.
Both leaders also highlighted opportunities for cooperation in the energy sector to support more dynamic development.
Regarding energy, H.E. Kęstutis Budrys shared Lithuania’s experience and strengths in developing an independent and progressive energy sector.
For Cambodia, the Prime Minister outlined the Royal Government’s priorities and policies in energy development, noting that the country has already achieved 62 percent clean energy use and aims to raise the figure to 70 percent by 2030.
Samdech Thipadei added that the Royal Government has introduced policies, support mechanisms, and various initiatives to promote a strong and sustainable energy sector.
Before concluding the meeting, Samdech Thipadei and H.E. Kęstutis Budrys also exchanged views on regional and global issues, expressing their shared support for respect for international law, the United Nations Charter, the peaceful settlement of disputes, and the non-use of force.
