AKP Phnom Penh, April 29, 2025 --
Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet this morning emphasised the vital role that the newly inaugurated National Roads 31, 33, and 41 will play in enhancing economic activities in the country’s southwestern region.
Constructed by the China Road and Bridge Corporation, the three roads were completed at a total cost of approximately US$188 million, funded through a concessional loan from the Government of the People’s Republic of China, along with contributions from the Royal Government of Cambodia to cover impacts and tax obligations.
“These newly upgraded roads are strategically designed to improve connectivity between key agricultural and industrial zones, while providing more efficient transporta routes for both commercial and private vehicles across the southwestern provinces,” Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet stated during the inauguration ceremony.
He further noted that the enhanced infrastructure will significantly improve regional transport networks and facilitate smoother travel, ultimately contributing to economic expansion.
“With these infrastructure upgrades, the southwestern region becomes increasingly attractive for new investment opportunities,” he added.
The Premier reaffirmed the Royal Government’s strong commitment to continued infrastructure development across the country, with the goal of promoting sustainable economic growth and improving the quality of life for all Cambodians.
