Siem Reap to Host 39th WAGGGS World Conference in Mid-June
AKP Phnom Penh, May 21, 2026 --
Siem Reap province, home to the world-renowned Angkor temples, will host the 39th World Conference of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) 2026, along with the Youth Pre-Event and the Olave Baden-Powell Society (OB-PS) Event in mid-June.
The event will be held under the presidency of Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet, Commissioner General of the Girl Guides Association of Cambodia (GGAC).
This major international gathering will bring together leaders, youth representatives, and members of the Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting movement from around the world to promote leadership, youth participation, and sustainable development under the theme: “We see. We care. We act.”
According to information available online, the WAGGGS World Conference is held every three years. The first conference took place in the United Kingdom in 1920, while the most recent edition was held in Cyprus in 2023.
The Olave Baden-Powell Society (OB-PS) is a global network of WAGGGS supporters that provides vital financial support to the Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting movement worldwide.
