Samdech Techo Hun Sen Urges Local Officials to Improve Public Services, Strengthen Security and Fight Online Scams

Acting Head of State and Senate President, Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, has called on civil servants, particularly commune and Sangkat council members, to continue improving public service delivery and fulfilling their responsibilities to serve the nation and the people.
Speaking during a meeting with 889 provincial, municipal, district, commune and Sangkat council members, along with leaders of departments and units in Thbong Khmum province on Sunday, Samdech Techo stressed the need for faster and more efficient essential services to the public.
He said delays or poor service could create dissatisfaction among citizens and urged officials to remain responsive to local needs.
The Acting Head of State also praised civil servants for their efforts in providing public services and helping maintain social order and stability. He commended authorities for preventing unrest and preserving peace in communities.
Samdech Techo instructed officials to continue safeguarding security through the implementation of the government’s Safe Village and Commune Policy, including crackdowns on crimes such as robbery, drug trafficking, and online scam operations.
He also encouraged local authorities to support state revenue collection through customs and taxation efforts, while protecting natural resources and preventing environmental destruction.
On land disputes, Samdech Techo urged authorities to resolve cases quickly and effectively, especially through non-court settlement mechanisms, while maintaining neutrality between parties.
He further praised officials in Thbong Khmum for working together to advance the province’s development and achieve continued progress.
The visit was described as part of efforts to strengthen accountability between the Senate and its voters, improve transparency, and enhance the effectiveness of local governance and public service delivery.
